Rick Green drinking a Liquan beer.

After hiking for five hours from Ping'an to Tiantouzhai in the Longji Scenic Area of Guangxi Province, Adventurocity's Rick Green relaxes with a Chinese adjunct lager. In the background is a pile of empty bottles from the guesthouse. Because a lot of Chinese beer is packaged in clear or green bottles, they can turn skunky if not kept out of sunlight. This is the price of cheap, cold beer.

Liquan is the leading beer brand in Southwest China, especially in its home province of Guangxi. It is the essential ingredient in Guilin Beer Fish. For reviews of Liquan Natural 10P beer, see Beer Advocate and Rate Beer. (Brian K. Smith photo | View slideshow)
