
The Thian Hock Keng Temple dedicated to Ma Cho Po, the Mother of Heavenly Sages and Goddess of the Sea is Singapore's oldest Chinese temple and most important for the Hokkien community. Constructed from 1839-42, building techniques and most materials were imported from China, including the Ma Cho Po statue.
