Jennifer Laidlaw
Contributing Writer
Jennifer first fell in love with travelling while on a family vacation in a small seaside town in Portugal when she was nine. It may have been the nude beaches or the rustic toilets, but more likely, it was the curious possibility of laughter, joy and friendship between people who don’t speak the same language.
Combining a passion for travel, music, literature, food and the environment, Jennifer can often be found adding must-see concerts into her calendar, whipping together itineraries for future adventures and working on a series of environmental-themed children’s adventure stories she hopes to soon have published.
Jennifer initially followed a career path in radio journalism, first starting as a Vancouver traffic reporter, providing commuters with updates from an airplane high above the city and then moving to Vancouver Island to work as a community news reporter and radio announcer. Now a full-time communications coordinator for Vancouver Coastal Health Authority, Jennifer is the editor of a bi-monthly internal healthcare publication.
She has been published in the Toronto Star, The Province, Hospital News and BC Lions Game Day Magazine and is a frequent contributor to online magazines Beyond Robson and Guttersnipe.
Jennifer has a degree in Communications from Simon Fraser University and a diploma in Radio and Television Broadcasting from Columbia Academy.
